And since then, a fundamental drop has been seen in the property investment. Recently, government reviewed the years old valuation rates of properties in numerous cities, which means the property purchasers and sellers are responsible of disbursing withholding-tax on revised-rates. Moreover, property investors also have to pay capital-gains-tax.
The fact that troubles most of the investors is that the revenue-body is also permitted to investigate about the source of investment. In most of the countries, real-estate and land contributes for between half and three-quarters of the state wealth according to World Bank. The market share of assets in Pakistan is about 1 trillion-dollar and property represents the maximum share. Investors have begun drawing out their money from property market since the property revaluation raised in the market. This disturbance is because of indefinite market situation and fall in property values.
Most of these investors are bringing their funds to other profitable places, which will be more rewarding with time. However, this situation is declining property investment in Pakistan & will collapse the market in the long-run. A delegation of the real-estate brokers also revealed that even the property-registrars were confused and they were still recording properties on collector-rates.
It is assured to delegations that the issues concerning the provincial-government would be fixed while their endorsements would also be conducted to the federal-government.
